With 196 uncontacted groups across the world, how do we stop half of them from being wiped out within the next 10 years?

About

Across the past 50 years, Survival International (SI) has worked in partnership with Indigenous people to amplify their plight on a global stage. It has seen SI help groups regain ancestral land, create large areas of protected rainforest and protect groups from mining and logging companies who sought to destroy their way of living (to name a few). They investigate, expose and confront atrocities committed by governments and big business, and give a voice to those who would otherwise be voiceless.

Opportunity

Create a report that documents decades of research and findings of how uncontacted indigenous peoples are being brutally wiped out across the world.

Outcome

A ground-breaking report that fully documented SI’s research in one place. With a launch night event, it brought indigenous leaders from around the world, along with actor and long-term supporter Richard Gere, to a press conference in London (as seen on Channel 4 and the BBC). Here, they were given the opportunities to speak out, tell their stories and raise awareness about the suffering of these peoples.

The report is also available in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French and German.
